Vasishta Maharshi:The Vasishta Godavari river is said to have been brought in by the famous Maharishi Vasishta, one of the seven great sages of the Hindu Mythology. As the place was made like a stage or 'Vedika' to perform the Yaga, it got it’s name as 'ANTARVEDI' Sri Neela Kanteswara Swamy Temple It is said that Lord Brahma, the creator in order to get freed from the many sins that he had committed against the liberator Lord Shiva, had performed a Rudrayaga and installed an idol Lord Neela kantheswara here. Lord Santhana Gopala Swamy and Keshava Swamy are to the west side of the prakaram and finally to the south side of the prakaram is the Acharyas and Alwars sannidhi with Chaturbhuja Anjaneya. To the north side is Goddess Bhoodevi and Lord Ranganadha Swamy. The other deities are on the east side of the prakaram there is Goddess Rajyalakshmi and Lord Venkateshwara. While approaching 'Garbha Gudi', one can see an adorable 'Vatapatra Sayi' on its roof which is made from a single stone.


Garuda, the mount of Lord Vishnu and Lord Anjaneya can be seen either sides of the main entrance.
